iStar Karaoke ReviewDON'T BOTHER - Version: 1.5.5, 3/4/2008 12:41PM PST

Don't bother spending your money on this product! I obtained a free copy through my job and I wish I had never even downloaded it. To start, this program DOES run on a Mac, but what they don't say is that the drive required does NOT come with the Mac. I had to buy the LaCie d2 DVD-RW drive to get my library on my computer. The graphics are very choppy and the window is so small. I can't imagine that I would be able to hook this up to a TV for karaoke.

I have an IBook G4 and I wanted to test this on my Intel IMac to see if the graphics worked better. NOT. It doesn't even work at all. I can't understand why an older computer would work but not a newer one. I tried this on both Tiger and Leopard on my IMac. When I tried to contact the developer, I did not receive a response.

The only upside to this whole experience is that I didn't have to pay for this crappy program. Please save your money. I have found another program called KJams Lite that I have started to test and it seems much easier. Try that program instead.

iStar Karaoke ReviewSAVE YOURSELF THE TIME... THIS DOESN'T WORK! - Version: 1.5.5, 10/27/2007 12:56PM PST

Fails to play CD-Gs in any way. Everything indicates this is a ripoff, since so many people complain that it doesn't work, yet you still see a $50 price tag on it. It is apparent the developer has ignored complaints to get this working.

iStar Karaoke ReviewWhat is the $50 for?? - Version: 1.5.5, 4/28/2007 03:24PM PST

If you click on a .kar file Quicktime plays it with words, two lines at time using midi. If you drop a .kar file on to iStar it plays it with words, two lines at a time using midi. Looks like the back end of $50 iStar is free Quicktime.

Maybe it would be good for writing your own, i dont know but if you are looking for a .kar player use Quicktime.
