Tiger-compatible? - Version: 1.0, 5/28/2005 01:54PM PST

Tiger 10.4.1 / GB 1.1.0. Tried dragging the .mid files onto an emptied GB window, per instructions, but they "flew back". (also tried a single file.) This is the first time I've used DdM; is there a Tiger compatibility problem?

Recently I needed to split some MIDI files into separate tracks, and came upon Dent du MIDI. So far it has worked flawlessly for my needs.
Thank you very much!

So it seems Dent du Midi will be superceded by new functionality in GarageBand 2 introduced today as part of iLife '05:
"GarageBand 2 can now import MIDI files, the industry standard file format for music songs. That means you can more easily import music from other applications or download music files from the Internet for use in your own songs."

For those of you staying with GarageBand 1.x, Dent du Midi will continue to be there to import MIDI files. Enjoy!
Wow! Must-have program. Excellent!

Simple, fast, efficient, with great options. Does what it says, and then more. I really wonder why Apple doesn't provide this (essential) functionality for garage band. This program is a definite must have for everyone who's doing *anything* with GarageBand! Thank you for a great program!
I am having an issue getting it to work... - Version: 0.9, 5/23/2004 04:37PM PST

I have followed the directions, converting the midi files ect.. the conversion does its job, but as soon as I try dropping it in Garageband, garageband locks up. It never finishes importing...
I have tried dragging on 1 track at a time, a few tracks at a time, and all tracks ... I have tried the various options... in the midi conversion process thinking that there might be a problem using maybe one of the new features... and I have had no sucssess.

Should be included with GarageBand!

I never usually comment, but this is what I have been looking for. Well done. I had a 9 track midi file up and running in GarageBand in about 5 minutes.
You need this program!

Without this program, GarageBand was simply unuseable for me. I have tons of midi files I created years ago on ancient computers with software that no longer exists. This program let me import them into GarageBand and breathe new life and sounds into the old music. Apple should pay close attention to this program, and incorporate it into the next GarageBand release. Thanks a ton for the program, and keep up the great work.
Brilliant!

Absolutely brilliant. Now all I need is a program to do the exact opposite; convert garageband files to MIDI.
Great progress

This worked wonderfully... couldn't have been easier... and made GarageBand instant fun for this novice... if nothing else, it's a great way to take a song you're already familiar with, and prepare it for GarageBand so that you can become accustomed to how the program works... bravo!
