HP PSC 1200 ReviewBAD SOFTWARE - Version: 7.9, 9/2/2009 07:42PM PST

ktilford
This is really bad bloatware that doesn't have an uninstaller, and loads your System to daemons that eat up resources in background, and extraneous software that's not made for Tiger or Leopard, not to mention Snow Leopard. If you need to print, use the HPIJS drivers available here:
<http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/hpijs#Usage>

I posted instructions for installation in a reply here:

If you need to scan, you might consider ViewScan (too expensive in my opinion, but works) or perhaps SANE for OS X (free, but I've never used it with this scanner).

HP PSC 1200 CommentaryWaiting for 10.5 Support - Version: 7.9, 11/9/2008 04:50PM PST

Would be great to see support for this product on the Mac OS 10.5. I'm able to print directly via USB for now, but without a new driver I haven't found a good way to print remotely to my HP connected to Time Capsule. Any advice? Let me know.

HP PSC 1200 Troubleshooting ReportWon't Install - Version: 7.9, 8/21/2006 09:55AM PST

This won't install on my MacBook Pro. It stops forever trying to install 'HP IO Core'. Any ideas?

I was previously using the old 7.7.2 driver, but HP just created new drivers.

Version 7.9 Universal at the official HP website
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&os=219&product=240978〈=en&softwareitem=mp-42111-1

My review for the HP PSC 1200 All-in-One 7.9 is 25 stars.
- HP fixed the Device Manager "Busy" error when selecting devices
- HP finally created a better OSX savvy interface, means you can control the windows properly, zooms & what-nots in all the windows I tried within the AIO package

Works flawlessly for me with Tiger 10.4.7 using an HP 1210 PSC AIO

HP PSC 1200 CommentaryA good update - Version: 7.7.2, 3/24/2006 07:23PM PST

I have found this release of the software for the PSC 1200 to be a great improvement of the previous versions.
So far I've had no problems with it, it all installed and works well.
For me it has fixed the annoying bug in the previous releases that would cause the HP Communications 'program' to start using all available CPU if the printer was turned off after printing.
Also the HP PhotoSmart Studio seems to be nice program.

HP PSC 1200 CommentaryScanning - Version: 7.7.2, 3/15/2006 07:44AM PST

I upgraded from Jaguar to Tiger 10.4.5 in February 2006, since upgrading my Hp psc 1210 works just great for coping and printing but I cannot get it to scan. I am somewhat concerned about updating driver at this time as I would hate to see my printing and coping messed up. Hopefully others will find the update drivers will work for them.

HP PSC 1200 CommentaryWorst release yet... - Version: 7.7.2, 2/9/2006 05:51AM PST

HP have released yet another appalling version of their drivers. Not only does this start around 6 services in the background (even if you are not printing), some of these poll the CPU repeatedly.

What makes it even worse though is that this latest release crashes any program when you select print. So it's back to the old drivers.

Well done, HP.
