I'm giving FinderScope a good score- not because it is a great app, but because it's a great idea which helps one visualise the alternative possibilities of PC GUI. The Apple finder has been with us for 2 decades or so now- Finderscape helps you discover and play with the 'room' finder Apple were playing with when originally developing OSX (which never happened because of too many people being far too conservative and wanting the OS9 finder back again?- boooo!).

Being dyslexic I have trouble with number sequencing- and using present computer OS's is exactly that- or more to the point- how the finder and many (all?) apps work these days. I would find it much easier to use an app like Photoshop if I could 'walk around' the different functions- and remembering my route along the way- rather than trying to remember strings and strings of events and getting stuck if I forgot just one of those sequenced events. eg- it is far easier for people like myself to remember a visual route than a string of commands

I'll be keeping an eye on this one :)

FinderScape ReviewGood work but... - Version: 1.3, 12/20/2004 11:11AM PST

no one really needs this sort of app. It just doesn't work for file navigation. However the author obviously knows/is learning his stuff and is doing a great job. Look forward to other future applications. Keep up the work and consider a previous reviewers comment about making this open source...

FinderScape Commentary- 3d finder - - Version: 1.2, 12/13/2004 11:24AM PST

i've never understood why none of the game engines available have been used to do something like this..
..aren't there freely available graphics engines that can be tweaked ?

it's the cyberpunk/tron idea, that dataspace is a virtual world..
..why do people expend so much effort, when the 3d engines already exist ??
