Watch and record TV on your PowerMac with AlchemyTV DVR! Schedule your recordings in a few easy steps with TitanTV or iCal, store them on your hard drive or burn them to VCD or DVD. Thanks to its tight integration with QuickTime, AlchemyTV DVR gives you a full range of capture options, including real-time MPEG-4 recording! AlchemyTV DVR delivers a clean and sharp picture, ideal for full size TV viewing and video capture. Best of all, DVR is supplied complete with remote control for maximum viewing pleasure!

What's new in this version:

  • Adds tvtv plug-in. You can now schedule recordings using the tvtv service available in some European countries.
  • Adds iEPG plug-in for Japanese users
  • New onscreen remote control
  • New plug-in 'iTunes export'. This will add MP4 files to the iTunes library or to a playlist depending on preferences.
  • Added movie editing plug-in
  • New overscan mode
  • Added Clipping presets for 14:9, 16:10 and Wide
  • Slightly changed appearance of Preferences window
  • 'Mono' is displayed in Controls menu when only Mono is available
  • The Startup plug-in now prevents sleep when a power off is scheduled
  • Scheduled recordings data is stored in Application Support folder instead of inside the preferences file.
  • Scheduled recordings will be tracked from list even if moved or renamed (with Alias).
  • Removed audio expert settings
  • Removed close button from Preferences window
  • Restricted video inputs displayed in Control menu to the supported ones.
  • Removed plug-ins without preferences settings from preferences pane
  • Removed limitation of available audio devices. Note: Audio inputs other than those belonging to the TV hardware may have AV sync issues.
  • New file name pattern for live recordings: Stationname/Year/Monthname/Day_Hour.minute
  • New file name template parts: ,
  • Fixed a bug that prevented 'Last Channel' from working after a wrong channel number was entered on the keyboard
  • Fixed bug on scheduled recordings when entering sleep more than once
  • Fixed non-sleeping display for recordings (will keep wake for fullscreen)
  • Recording list reacts on double click again
  • 'Post-process' toolbar item always enabled
  • Fixed bug that resulted in smaller and smaller window when switching the clipping back and forth
  • Clipping now works in full screen mode
  • Clipping is preserved when window is re-opened.
  • Removed initialization of non-connected Bluetooth devices
  • Fixed problems with Japanese localization
  • Fixed display of long application names in remote control pref pane
  • Speed up creation and deletion of recordings
  • Fixed bug with iCal plug-in when deleting active recordings
  • Fixed permanent display of 'Stereo' OSD
  • Fixed PAL D/K sound issue
  • Fixed problem when opening preferences while recording
  • Update check no longer blocks application start

Since July '95, I've been quite satisfied with this product (AlchemyTV\DVR), despite a few wrinkles during setup - Power Mac G5\2.5 GHZ, 3GB w\Cinema Display.

AlchemyTV DVR Troubleshooting ReportSound Distortion after update - Version: 2.5, 11/1/2006 01:07AM PST

Sound distortion after switching channels, occational klicks and buzzes.

Changing audio input in Audio/Sound Prefs has the same effect.

Probelm is new after ver.2.5 installation.

Mac OS 10.4.8 on a 1.4GHz Quicksilver.
