Ocean Waves CommentaryVery Good, Except… - Version: 1.5, 7/20/2008 04:17PM PST

Brass Hammer
It crashes on quitting. And, while I can handle that, I guess, it should probably be fixed.

Ocean Waves ReviewIt works great for me - Version: 1.4, 11/21/2007 03:33PM PST

It works perfectly here, and it solved a big noise problem for me. The downtown here just got through installing background music just outside my window, and it was really irritating. Ocean Waves covers the muzak just fine, and I forget that it's there.

One request: a few optional seagulls would be nice!

Ocean Waves ReviewWorks a treat on my newborn - Version: 1.4, 5/24/2007 12:16AM PST

This piece of (well priced) software has done the trick for my 2 week old son. We leave it playing for him while he sleeps, and it seems to calm him wonderfully. It's much easier to put him down at night, too

Works on parents as well :-) 5 stars.

Ocean Waves ReviewLongtime happy user - Version: 1.3.1, 9/7/2006 08:02AM PST

I've been using Ocean Waves for perhaps two years now, often turning it on when I'm winding down in the evening or leaving it on a 90 minute timer when I go to sleep. It is possibly the perfect versiontracker application - simple but featureful, unobtrusive, stable, actively maintained, and reasonably priced.

I've registered a number of good applications, but I've gotten hundreds of hours of use out of this one for pennies. Try it.

I've been using Ocean Waves now for 3 months. I've tried many ocean-sounding audio over the past few years, from purchasing those white noise machines, to CDs, to other Mac apps. This is the finest one out there. As others have noted, every other one had a loop, and your ear would eventually pick that up. Not so with this app. I listen to it in the background while I work and write, for hours and hours on end, and I've yet to detect any looping, or sense that I was not listening to actual waves.

Highly recommended. If you need to get work done, this is the best $6 you'll spend this month!

(and no, I'm in no way connected to the creator.)

Ocean Waves Commentaryexercise caution - Version: 1.3, 5/11/2006 10:48PM PST

As a survivor of several major hurricanes, I guess I should have been more cautious with this little software program. But I wasn't, and after only about 3 minutes of listening to it, my PTSD was unexpectedly triggered so intensely that I have already incurred additional medical and psychiatric bills as a consequence. I'm sure that for most people this simple wave simulator is relaxing and enjoyable, but in my opinion, survivors of ocean-related disasters or traumas: hurricanes, tsunamis, ship wrecks, near drownings, shark attacks and other oceanic or aquatic survivors should take head: this program may have unpredictable effects on your psychological well-being.

Ocean Waves ReviewAs a person who lives near the ocean - Version: 1.1, 12/22/2005 07:16PM PST

I am usually disappointed by this type of thing, but it is well done and very soothing - I instantly liked it. No, it isn't truly realistic, but set everything to different intervals, turn down the volume a little, and it's close enough for $5. Best of all, its not a repeating loop.

This product is great - sound moves from one speaker to the next - very relaxing and good for meditators. It is NOT exactly like waves crashing upon a shore, but it is good to relax to. Very unique product.

Sounds very realistic to me. The person who complained it sounded like static should possibly see an otolaryngologist :)
