This time I was able to use the package installer and had no problems and am happily writing away in Esperanto. Here are five stars for you. You might want to update your documentation in your legu min file, it makes no mention of the package installer. Great work!

i have redone the zip archive, moving to a package installer, should fix whatever seems to happen with the zip archive. you can try removing one of the Esperanto.bundle files - there should only be one. there are times when i find it difficult to get the system to recognize an added keyboard layout. if you're comfortable with the terminal you can use the touch command on the keyboard layouts folder and the bundle within. this always works for me.
touch /Library/Keyboard Layouts
touch /Library/Keyboard Layouts/Esperanto.bundle
i'm not completely confident that the previous zip file wasn't corrupted, so you may want to download it again and trash the previous files.

Okay, first of all there are two Esperanto.bundle files in the download. I put both in my Library/KeyboardLayout and logged out/in. Then I put both in the root LLibrary/Keyboard Layout and logged out/in. I still have no Esperanto keyboard layout in the International Preferences under Input. Please advise.

sorry about the h circumflex. i use the dvorak layout and hadn't noticed that. the linked version has been updated. also, i have made available the version i used on 10.2.x - go to www.options4.com/software/
if you have a better layout in mind, i'm open to adding it to the bundle. the one i used is a slight variation of the only one i found on the net.

Works mostly in OS 10.2.8

Installed on a G4 running OS 10.2.8, the keyboard allowed me access to the needed supersigned letters for Esperanto, with the exception of the h circumflex. I got a slashed h instead. The automatic u brev substitution did not function. Testing done in TextEdit. Works only for Unicode-capable apps (NOT MS Word V.X, for example).
This is not my favorite keyboard layout for Esperanto, since the placement of the Esperanto keys has no mnemonic or ergonomic logic. The same, of course, is true of the entire QWERTY layout. Once learned, the layout can be effective and quick. The automatic u brev substitution is a nice idea.

Historical Failure? hmm... - Version: 1.0, 1/13/2004 04:25PM PST

try this: in the Language tab of the International Pane of System Preferences, move Esperanto to the top (yes, it's available - add it via the edit button if it's not there already). then quit Safari, relaunch it, and try google or debian.org to see web pages in Esperanto. if you have Mellel, the word processor, it's menus will be in Esperanto the next time you launch it. in fact, pieces of OS X itself have been localized in Esperanto.

Cool.... But, why? - Version: 1.0, 1/13/2004 02:22PM PST

Why on earth would a developer be so moved as to want to create a keyboard layout for an invented language which has been relegated to the annals of Historical Failures?
