I have used this software for a long time. I buy DVDs from Amazon US and I live in europe.

With this software I can switch back and forth regions smoothly. My iMac allways asks for right region for some reason. With Region X I do not have to worry regions and the amount of chanching times that Apple gives to user. ;-P

It IS necessary to have the ability to switch regions even if your hardware drive is region free (RPC1). This is because whichever software player that you are using cannot always distinguish which type of DVD you are trying to play - SOME DVDs are what has been termed 'smart disks'. These disks (with for instance RCE protection) will not always play even on an unregioned player such as VLC without specifying the CORRECT REGION - You just get a notice come up saying that the wrong region has been selected. What has happened is that the software player has been told by the DVD that the 'wrong region notice' is actually the movie itself! Not very entertaining huh? So this software is designed to solve the problem by allowing you to select the region. Apparently this is best done by hand BEFORE the movie is played.
