My family has used Norton Antivirus for years on our mac's, since for some reason, my dad thinks we need the security. We went years virus free until my mom got a virus that crippled MS office. Norton Antivirus failed at removing it, even though an online search on their site said it was a low level virus that was easily fixed. After hours on the phone with tech support speaking with person after person and being passed on to somebody that deals with the mac OS version, we found out that there is no such person, and that Norton anti-virus for the mac is no longer supported. It's a useless program that sits on the computer and does nothing.
The Uninstaller is no better. It sits on the computer and does nothing. You open it, it says it can't find anything to uninstall. All that the entire Norton Antivirus product does on my computer is inform me every friday that my virus definitions are out of date, and then it fails to update them. The uninstaller does not fix this problem.

Oh -- my -- God! An application that UNINSTALLS symantec products!? Any and all of them!!! This product is worth it's weight in gold. Certainly the most ground-breaking application that Symantec has ever created. Why are they distributing this for free? Is it the terms of an anti-trust settlement againt them? This is Symantec's flagship program.

Symantec Uninstaller ReviewDidn't work for me at all - Version: 1.0.2, 9/24/2005 02:18PM PST

Installed this on a client's machine who had ALL the Systemworks apps on it. They were all in the default locations but this new and improved app, unlike their previous shell script, did not work at all. It looked for apps and said there were none. Then I ran the script (that I kept around, just in case) and it did the job fine. The older working script can be downloaded here.
