I just purchased Libra as I need to have iTunes seperate, unique libraries on an internal laptop drive and an external drive.

I opened Libra and created a new library on the external drive and made it the active library. when iTunes opened up, my entire library from the internal drive was in the new library. I expected a clean, empty library. Disappointing.

As a test, I made the external library active and imported a CD. I expected to see the new CD only in the external library. However, when I made the original internal drive library active, the new imported CD was there. Again, Disappointing

Is this expected behavior? I understood that Libra would allow me to create new empty iTunes libraries on external drives and that I could import music unique to that library.

Am I using Libra incorrectly or is this how it is supposed to work?

Thanks.

I cant seem to activate libra, ive downloaded the package, and now its just sitting there in my documents. Ive browsed through the "libra" document, and anything that looks vaguely promising fails to work

Any ideas anyone???

Libra Troubleshooting ReportCannot access my libraries - Version: 2.1, 10/18/2006 05:04PM PST

I've been using Libra for about a month and just installed the 2.1 version. After I did this I moved some songs around between my libraries. Everything seemed to work fine, but now when I try to open Libra I get the following message:

"Inconsistent library data. Libra detected inconsistent data that it could not fix. Please contact technical support."

I have sent several emails to Steve Roy (the developer) but have not received a reply.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this problem? I use a PC.

Thanks.

I believe most problems (experienced by a few users) through version 2.0.4 have now been solved in version 2.1.1.

I was trying to seprate my wife's music from my son's music since he is only 2 and she is importing music for him.

This program ROCKS!!! I tried Doug's script but it was not really working for me. I then found this and it works great!!!

Saved me from hours of frustration..

GREAT PROGRAM. I love the way that each user can have their own music and prefs. Too Cool..

this program saved my life! well that may be extreme... but i'm very happy. i couldn't get it to import my old libraries -- which were scattered throughout many backups. but it read my current just fine. when i made a new one, i added all of the music from all of the old libraries to one master. and now i can switch between the master and the standard hd one flawlessly... at last! thank you.

Libra ReviewImport fails - Version: 2.0.4, 1/10/2006 09:04AM PST

The Import function does not work. It creates a new library in the ~/Music/Libra folder, but the newly-created library does not have any of the music from the folder from which the import take place. I believe that this would be a useful utility for iTunes. But, as I tried to communicate with the author about issues, I received no reply whatsoever. In its current form, I cannot recommend this to anyone.

OSX 10.39 iTunes 4.7.1

I installed Libra, renamed my iTunes ibrary, then created a new blank one. Now no matter what I select in Libra the blank one comes up. Without Libra running and using iTunes prefs, I can't access the library either. I can see the folder in finder, I sent 2 emails to the developer, no answer. If anyone can help me get back to my pre-Libra state I'd sure appreciate it.

I had been using Doug's applescript without problem. I removed the scripts folder before using Libra, but perhaps I caused a conflict. It is a 12 gig folder and I sure want access to it again.
