Used it for 6 months before and after upgrading to snow leopard. For a free software, it is amazing... much faster, stable and compatible than OpenOffice. I exchnage MS word and powerpoint files between neooffice and MSoffice without any "major" problems as I used to face when I was using Openoffice. However, both suits are great considering their size and functionalities as development packages given for free. Thanks for the developers
I do not choose Office Software for my work freely but sometimes have to for some customer. And I am getting many files from many different customers for further processing. By now I have completely abandoned MS Office and and have neither problems nore complaints. At all.
People have different views on NeoOffice or OpenOffice being better. First of all: NeoOffice is based on OpenOffice, you should maybe think of that if you claim how much better it is. But the main thing is: Different People have different experience with the two. I had files I could not open with NeoOffice but OpenOffice worked (I don't know why, maybe NeoOffice, being based on OpenOffice, is one step behind in actuality sometimes). Other people had the opposite experience. In Reality each one has advantages and disadvantages over the other - whereas as far as I am concerned they are not too different and each one does its job greatly. So please stop this arguing which leads nowhere. The advise should clearly be:
There is OpenOffice as well. NeoOffice is based on OpenOffice but clearly better integrated in the Macalthough OpenOffice has made progress as well. OpenOffice exists on other Platforms too (got a Friend with a PC?), NeoOffice does not. Both are free (mainly thanks to the OpenOffice Project)!! So just try both, see which one you like more. Or maybe just use them both - for the improbable case that one will not do its duty some time.
