Inquisitor CommentaryA Confused Disingenuous Developer - Version: 3.1 (v54), 5/15/2008 09:05AM PST

MAC_1984
Mr. Watanabe clearly is a very confused developer as he states in software as you agree to his EULA in his software installers to support Indie developer and not the big corporations. Then what does he do? He hands off Inquisitor to Yahoo with him remaining as its lead developer! Go figure, and read his site to learn how he has sold-out to Yahoo.

A main grievance with Inquisitor is that its installer completely deletes other input manager preferences along with anything in the Safari toolbar. This requires that you again customize your Safari toolbar, and reload licenses like CosmoPod, and TabExpose. You also have to reconfigure Inquisitor. There is no logical reason for Inquisitor to touch other applications, but I guess Watanabe has not yet to learn how to code properly?

I have a PDF of his web page where he went on a tirade against people who questioned his ethics regarding how Inquisitor was quietly using its searches to link to Amazon (hence, lining his pockets) when he chose not to disclose his little game. His blog is entirely censored, and if does not like what others have to say he shuts down the comments and deletes the ones that he dislikes although many complaints respectfully express the truth. He did come clean, but his disrespect for others was made clear in his little temper tantrum. I also have experience with other applications by Watanabe, and his handling of support, licensing, and generally his demeanor, is far from acceptable and can be quite uncivil. He is a poor representative of the Mac world, and only takes himself in to account. He would have been better as a politician than a software developer as he has all the makings.

You have been warned.

inquisitor hijacks your google search and replaces it with Yahoo - without telling you. There also have removed the UNINSTALL option from the installing, meaning you have track down the related files manually to remove it.

Didn't this kind of thing go out of style - back in the 90's?

Very nice program; and quick, which I thought would be a problem.

And about the sneaking in Amazon links: I don't mind it that much as long as I'm aware that it's first on purpose as an ad. If I'm looking for something else I just press enter and search old fashion way...

Try this program!
It's free...
