eVita is a program for computer science students or fans of cellular automata (CA) such as Conway's Game of Life. It is open source and highly extensible. New rules may be easily programmed into eVita for you to create your own CA. New "skins" can be added.

This version of cellular automata simulator is cute, but limited.It has good graphics, and the age of a cell is shown by increasing size (which stops at a certain point), but the field size is limited, and there are no options to set up situations, only percentage-based auto-fills.

This is a GREAT start, though, and I look forward to future updates ( this is a 0.1, after all), when more standard features build upon the enjoyable new ones the developer added. Keep going, this could be a favorite some day. Feature wish list: 1) larger field sizes, 2) editable (and maybe save/load current situations) setups, 3) customized rules (perhaps as settings files).
