Product Description:

DeepSix is a simple utility that removes some of the font-related files that can cause some design-based applications to unexpectedly quit, especially Flash, Microsoft Office and Adobe products. First, the software removes the infamous "AdobeFnt" files that seem to replicate across the system. Secondly, it removes the font cache files from the various libraries across the system. All of these files that are deleted are automatically rebuilt new when they are needed. Third, it will now remove Microsoft Office problematic files. Normally these can all be removed by hand, but that can be a tremendous time-waster to have to do various times a day in a busy environment. DeepSix will remove these files for you automatically each and every time. A simple fix that even Adobe suggests in their troubleshooting forums!

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed a *potential* problem of deleting any AdobeFnt.DB files which *supposedly* causes Adobe Illustrator not to run.
  • Added a log feature to show what and when files are being deleted

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or higher

I have used this in its now several incarnations, and have not had an "unexpected quit" in InDesign or MS Word since.

And just to check, I just ran Illustrator (10.0.3) through its paces, and everything seems just fine.

Any app that saves time (restarting apps, or even the Mac) and angst is all right by me!
