Product Description:

Goombah is a new beta-stage software product that interacts with Apple iTunes Music Store on Mac OS X. Using distributed computing to analyze iTunes music libraries, it finds each user's "nearest neighbors" in musical taste. No music ratings are required; it's based on each person's iTunes music-listening history. iTunes music libraries are revealed to neighbors, and used to generate reliable music recommendations. Other included functionality includes a music-oriented blogging service and various utilities to help search for music on the Web.

What's new in this version:

Primarily a bug fix release, including a bug that could stop neighbor searching. Highly recommended for all users.

...and just a better product. The website for iLike ties in very slickly with the sidebar client, something that Goombah isnt able to do. I think the idea is neat, but could be more polished and better integrated into iTunes.

rather slow, but great free music selection, and i actually really loved the #1 recommendation it gave me. senegal fast food. gotta work on making it more mac friendly and speedier.

I found this a few weeks ago and tried it. It's pretty cool. I really like a lot of the free music that it recommends to me. There's new music every week. It's also fun to browse other users collections.
