Quark 6 & FR Server 1.6.2 crash - Version: 3.1.3, 2/18/2004 09:50AM PST

Our users have no problems turning on fonts and auto-activating fonts when they are at working in the office connected to the FontReserve server. When they take their laptops out of the office to work, the FontReserve client cannot access the server (obviously) so the user must choose to "Work offline". This leaves the permanently activated fonts available to them but Quark 6 WILL NOT LAUNCH. It runs to the title screen then quits. I've looked in the console for error messages and say that Quark is complaining about Helvetica like it cannot find it. I have verified the font is installed on the system and via numerous installs (reformat hd, install os, install quark, install fontreserve) I know the font isn't corrupt. If I turn off FontReserve via it's system prefs pane, Quark will launch, but then I cannot access any of my permanently activated fonts, even if I turn it back on while Quark is running. Quark 5 (running in classic) was able to start and see the permanently active fonts. Has anyone else run into this situation and found a fix? Why does Quark 6 die when FontReserve is active but not connected to the server when Quark 5 worked?

I would really like to see a fix for 10.3 than an extension for something I am about to drop. Yes, I have QXP6 but I can’t use it, its to very unstable, so I am moving over to a more reliable product. One that you have discussion boards for and a lot better support. Quark has shut us out and after 14 years I have decided to change.
I still have to create my books in Quark 4.11 through classic. Its the only thing I run in classic anymore. I tried calling Quark numerous times and emailing them, but never received a reply.
On to better stuff.
