This product does what i need, and there seems to be no alternative on the market. It works just fine w. my pentium iMac, OS 10.4.11. I give this product 5 stars in partr to offset a 1 star rating which seems to me unfair to the developer, (their customer support was great w. me), and unfair to Mac users who want to convert .pdf into Office docs.

I checked out the trial version today on a quite simple pdf document, just formatted text with some pictures, compatible to Acrobat version 5. The output I have got from the app is editable with M$ Word, but the formatting is screwed up totally. It should be much easier to make a new Word file from scratch. At least the application did not crash on my system, as reported from other users. The uninstall feature of the installer seems not to be operational.

I tried Acrobat Professional to convert a PDF to Word. It almost worked with some pages OK.
I tried PDF2Office and every page was a mess.
Can somebody tell me how to uninstall it.

The software crashed each time I tried to use it. Everything looks fine until you hit the conversion button, then Wham! It quits unexpectedly with errors including:
Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS (0x0001) at 0x0f06426c

What is this worth?

I had trouble making a conversion with every .pdf file that I sent through the software. I contacted Recosoft Support. The following text is copied from an email I received from Technical Support. I was trying to convert a form from .pdf to MS Word so that I could complete the form. I spent more than two hours making conversion efforts on one .pdf document, changing preference settings, etc. Ultimately, after following the online recommendations I sent the form to Technical Support. They "fixed" the problem. The "solution" follows:
"What you're looking at is a high-resolution image of the PDF file in the
background overlayed with a transparent textbox which is optimized for data
entry. You input/type over the form; thus the form is intact and you fill in
your details.
You need to use tabs, carriage returns to move the cursor in that specific
area you require to fill in the data...
[text removed in this section that describes how to do the same thing on the second page of the document]
...We actually have a lot of users using this mechanism to enter forms.
Again, please get back to us.

I contacted Recosoft and requested a refund. This was denied, "All Sales are Final."
Previous reviews found this software to be poor. I cannot agree more.

The program takes out the text fine, however the layout is a disaster. With a somewhat complicated document you may end up spending more time on reformating then you would have used when you had retyped the text by hand to start with. 2.1 is better than 2.0 though, maybe wait for 2.3 or greater?
How to Get the Accept Key on the Installer to activate... - Version: 2.0, 3/8/2005 08:59PM PST

Hi,
The reason the installer's Accept key on the user agreement doesn't highlight, is because you HAVEN'T SCROLLED TO THE END OF THE DOCUMENT!... It believes that if you scroll to the end, perhaps you will actually read one of these pieces of legalese nonsense, and when you scroll to the end, the Accept button is activated...
