Product Description:

n Mac OS X, the application can read PDF files and uses the first page to create the icon. On non PDF files, it tries to open the file as a picture using QuickTime and takes the main image inside the file. So it should work with all file types QuickTime can read. e.g. TIFF, JPEG, BMP, Photoshop, GIF, PNG, etc.
The Realbasic source code is included. This application shows REALbasic developers how to use the PDF and Icon classes to generate icons based on a given picture and how to make a picture from a page in a PDF file.

Operating System Requirements:

Make Icon ReviewAlmost Perfect - Version: 1.0, 12/2/2003 09:40AM PST

Almost perfect. Two-and-a-half problems: 1) dropping a folder of images on the application icon results in error instead of fixing the icons of all images in the folder. Should work for unlimited nested folders in my opinion. 2) When an error alert comes up there is no option to abort the action. If, for example, you select a bunch of files some of which are images and some of which are folders, and drop them on the application icon you must continue to acknowledge a dialog box for each folder. It would be nicer to have a "Cancel Action" button. 2-1/2) It should have the option to have the app automatically quit after it does its thing.

Yes, Make Icon does what it says. However, Pic2Icon has a full user interface. I much prefer a drop well to an Open dialog. Best of all, though, Pic2Icon can run in Pig Latin!
