SQLEditor ReviewDoesn't work on my OSX 10.5 PPC - Version: 1.6b14, 11/4/2009 06:45PM PST

I don't know what the deal is but the program looks like it would be cool if I could actually edit sql with it. I opened it up and tried to edit some .sql files but they imported with a bunch of errors and then displayed no text. Then, I tried creating a file from scratch and it would let me create tables and other stuff that was in the <i>objects</i> menu but I couldn't edit the code in the side panel nor could I manipulate what was in the gui.

SQLEditor ReviewIndispensable Product for Developers - Version: 1.4, 8/2/2008 10:15AM PST

This product is an essential piece of software for anyone doing any database development. It consistently helps us with everything from graphically documenting existing databases (ERDs) to creating/maintaining new systems. The developer is extremely responsive and keeps improving this application. Well worth every penny!

It would be really nice to see ruby on rails databases supported with this and turn around support. It would also be nice to see Hobo models with their instant migrations support.

SQLEditor ReviewVery useful - Version: 1.1.4b5, 2/12/2006 06:55AM PST

I use this as a teaching/demonstration tool to teach database concepts at university. It is a great tool for visualising database design, and simple to use.

I have used it over a couple of versions, and the feature set is maturing nicely. Well worth the price.

I would be nice if the primary key/foreign key highlighting remained visible even after tables are de-selected, but that's a teaching thing, not a developer thing.

Great little software! I like it a lot, it could be (if well developed) THE ONE!
I'd like PostgreSQL support, it seems to be able to write only generic sql (no sequences, etc...) but it's a great start

SQLEditor ReviewNice little App - Version: 1.0b3, 12/17/2003 02:01PM PST

This is a very nice start. It installs in seconds and works well. It seems to be focused on MySQL but changing it's output for other DBMS's is easy enough (hopefully other DBMS's will be supported soon - the problem here is there are subtle differences in the datatypes offered by each product).

It's a great start. Mac friendly and it doesn't seem suffer from slow start up times that some java programs have.

My only complaiint is trivial - the inspector window should be a floating pallet or perhaps a fixed part of the "canvas" window. I kept closing it when I really meant to click on another item. Perhaps double clicking an item should open it in an inspector window.

I just grabbed B3 and it works fine on my install - I had to do the tech note thing mentioned in the response to the previous post.

Now I have to figure out how to reverse a design in MySql....

SQLEditor Developer NoteSupport Panther - Version: 1.0b2, 12/8/2003 12:47PM PST

The Panther issue is a question. I have one report saying it doesn't work and some positive reports from others saying that it does work. If it doesn't work please try updating to Java 1.4 if you haven't already and check that you are not suffering from the Panther Java installation bug: http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn2002/tn2099.html Thanks to everyone who has tried the software so far!
