I used to do all of my coding in TextEdit, but I am switching to Web Minimalist. This is a great app, but even though I don't have to switch applications when to preview, I still have to switch tabs. As others have requested, why not have a real-time preview next to the editing window? This would make the app perfect!

i like this little app a lot. The syntax coloring is nice. But the instant preview is OUTSTANDING. I would do the following....
1. Add line numbers
2. Create a few HTML buttons along the top that insert mark-up
3. Marry the apple color picker for color mark-up
I was able to view package contents and manipulate the default template. Now it comes up with something that I use frequently in my day-to-day work. The author should get a Pay Pal tip jar. I would be happy to make a contribution.
An outstanding little app.

I've been using a free editor called SubEthaEdit (formerly hydra) that does much the same, but has the (continually updated) rendered HTML in another window.
SubEthaEdit and Web Minimalist look to be two excellent alternatives, and I can see myself using both.
Some ideas and suggestions that would make me prefer WebMinimalist:
1. option for separate windows so you don't have to toggle back and forth
2. option for user-specified templates to be opened at default
3. ability to use this seemlessly (back and forth) with netscape composer or other free WYSIWYG editor
4. a few menu bar buttons that would allow, say, saving the file, uploading to an HTML validator, etc.
If any of those could be added without bloat, at least as options, it might be worth doing.
Five stars for every category! Thanks for keeping it FREE!
