I have used this program for several years. I do outlines and it's the best I've found for doing this. But, it seems they have stopped developing and do not keep Inspiration up to date ... no version for Leopard.
Anyone wanting to use Inspiration with Merlin etc, read on...

I've been using Inspiration for a couple of years and find it indispensable for planning ideas which involve lots of possibilities etc- yeah, you know the score!... ;) Anyway, recently I have been asked to do some project management stuff and was hoping to use Inspiration to do the initial mind mapping, but however, I came across a major problem and that was the fact that Inspiration only exports to MS doc files or RTF files and not XML or OPML files, which are used by most project managers such as the rather excellent Merlin2 or OmniPlan applications. Anyway, to cut too a long story short, I've just found after many hours of searching that OmniOutliner can be used to process these rtf files (I haven't tried doc files yet) and convert them into OPML files which can be read by Merlin etc. Eureka! It works!! :D But I should also point out that this shouldn't deter Inspiration's developers to fix the problem for version 9! Come on you guys, Inspiration ain't just for kids you know!!! ;)
On a last note, IMO, Inspiration really is a bargain at the price. It also works in a very similar manner to Buzan's software yet is a fraction of the cost of Novamind- which is very similar, but costs a small fortune, and is buggy. And to make things really great, you can even buy Inspiration for Palm OS- which works really well, and syncs with the Mac version- hurrah!
I just wish that the default bubble background colour wasn't that lurid green. ;)

Like other comments, I love Inspiration. It works fine with Leopard. But it is a pity that the text rendering is trapped in an ugly QuickDraw limbo, with no signs of a Cocoa update.
