Product Description:
Created with System Administrators who service large groups of workstations in mind, Yasu (Yet Another System Utility) was made to do a specific group of maintenance tasks quickly within a few clicks, rather than needing to endlessly type shell script commands in the Terminal application.
What's new in this version:
- changed "done" sound to aiff from wav since it was freaking out some machines
- made "done" sound toggleable via "defaults write"...
- Sound on:
defaults write com.jimmitchelldesign.yasu PlaySound -int 1 - Sound off:
defaults write com.jimmitchelldesign.yasu PlaySound -int 0
- Sound on:
- changed doNSTask() routines to doShellScript() to fix spurious keychain corruption issues
- fixed French localization (missing/incorrect strings)
- added additional DARWIN cache paths
- fixed archived log removal paths where applicable to Tiger/Leopard
- changed references of "jimmitchell.org" to "jim mitchell design" in help
- added routine to change name of "com.jmo.yasu.plist" to "com.jimmitchelldesign.yasu.plist"
- changed links in software from "jimmitchell.org" to "jimmitchelldesign.com"
- added Sparkle.framework for better update checks
- removed "curl" based application update checking
- disabled user preferences related to curl based update checks

Having run Yasu for the first time, I encountered a minor problem. I wrote and asked for help and was so pleased with a complete and polite answer within a few hours. First time that has happened with any product I own. I am so glad I was told about this product.

Yasu and it's developer and top notch. The new 2.5.7 is even easier to use and works wonderfully while other utilities fall flat. Yasu works well on my G5 and MacBook Pro.

This is the first version of the software where it crashed when it completes the routine instead of restarting. It then asked me to send crash information to Apple. When I went to the Yasu forums the page kept giving me 404 not found. What is going on with the developer?
