Product Description:

SHORT: Cunning Fox is a tool to stop and continue the running applications under mac os x. Moreover it provides information about application such as CPU usage memory etc...

LONG:Cunning Fox is an application for controlling your Macintosh and understanding what your computer is doing; it shows the running applications of your Mac with their CPU and memory usage. With Cunning Fox you will be able to see which applications are wasting more resources. You can then understand how you can improve your productivity with your Mac.

Furthermore, not only does Cunning Fox let you view the running applications of your Mac, it also let you control them. For instance, when you are using Virtual PC, you want all the power of your CPU to focus on Virtual PC. Of course, you can quit all of the other running applications in order to minimize the CPU usage in other tasks, but this is not a convenient solution. A better solution is to stop all the applications except Virtual PC. Then, you will have all the power of your processor available for Virtual PC and the other applications will be unaffected.

What's new in this version:

  • Restoring application procedure improved by a dialog which now appears when the user tries to enable an application that was stopped before.
  • Software update improved
  • Memory leak fixed.

Cunning Fox CommentaryApplication adds 3 things to the dock after restart - Version: 1.0.5, 12/9/2009 05:49PM PST

I have tried the latest version of cunningfox 1.0.5 on three different machines. One was a MacBook Pro and two were on G-4 computers, one at 733mhz and one at 800mhz. After doing restarts or power ups on all machines, I noticed that "Time Machine" would appear in the dock and the two folders - documents & downloads would appear next to the trash icon. After removing them and restarting they would be back in the dock. Quitting cunningfox and not have it as a start up item (no cunningfox) the dock would remain exactly as it was before. I like my dock to be the way I set it and not have 3 unwanted things appear after every restart. Other than that anomaly, it works just fine.

Cunning Fox is a tool to stop and continue the running applications under mac os x, so that you can "pause" other applications to gain optimal performance for a specific application moreover it also provides information about application such as CPU usage memory etc.

Just like it says it's a GREAT tool to kill running applications that are locked up - non responsive -etc. never has failed me and it's been a life saver, as I overwork my Mac to the limit and beyond 100% of the time.
