Product Description:

Dimage is a utility which allows you to create DMGs (disk images) with very little fuss. Especially in Panther (Mac OS X 10.3), DMGs are tedious to create. Dimage is always there when you need it, and can create disk images of folders, files, and groups of items with as little as one click of your mouse.

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed a bug with the part of Dimage responsible for checking for new versions. Previously, the check for new versions would halt Dimage until it completed. Now, it runs in the background, allowing you to use Dimage as normal. The most notable side effect of this bug was that if the site holding the latest version was down, Dimage would halt indefinitely.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2.8 or higher

Dimage Commentarydidn't work for me... - Version: 1.0.6a, 9/16/2004 11:06AM PST

D Templeton
since there is no option to build the image outside of the boot drive. My boot drive is near full, and I wanted to build an image of files on my near-empty scratch disk. Seemed to be working rather slowly when I got a "disk full" warning. I had to force quit and seach for new, large, invisible files to clear out the space. An option to speify where the temporary files are held would be good, or do it virtually from the actual files.

I don't see the point of using this. Only 1 option ?? to add a custom icon .. That must be a joke. Ok, its free. But 1 star though.

Dimage Troubleshooting ReportIncomplete Image - Version: 1.0.6a, 1/18/2004 06:44AM PST

Truth w Christ
This is still a 5 star app! On RARE occasions when I image a Video DVD that was made using the "Join" function in DVD2One, the resulting Dimage Image is not complete - seems like it only imaged the first of say two or three joined VOB files?? Other times on different joined DVD's - it works, P.S. The ability to image a Video DVD is excellent!
