1. iStudy has been designed to work best in a school or group environment with students developing their own lessons and trading them with their peers. VBA with Excel works very well with both Mac and Windows individually. VBA and Excel work very well between the two platforms. Anything created on a Mac can be viewed on a Windows machine and vice versa.
2. At the moment the development of the software has been much faster due to iStudys marriage with Excel. We do however have plans to integrate Excel’s spreadsheet functions directly into iStudy.
3. The bottom line is that iStudy works well with Excel 98 through Excel XP and with Windows 97 through Windows XP while at the same time iStudy works flawlessly in Mac OS X with Excel X. iStudy lessons are easily exported and imported between the two platforms.

Thank you for your interest.

Why would you build a Mac program like this and require the user to have Excel?

The price. iStudy is not shareware. iStudy is designed to be a comprehensive study aid for students to study more, study faster and stay organized. When a student buys iStudy they are getting a fun study tool that allows them to cope with almost any set of terms, definitions or concepts that their school gives them to memorize. iStudy is a collection of 4 applications bundled into one. Flash iT, Study iT, Test iT, Pocket iT. iStudy is easy to use "out of the box";. There are however many advanced features which a student (or their; parents, tutor, or school) might require support. Some of these features include: the use of filters, images, Remember iT, the creation of trading PoDs, printing Flash Cards, or even moving lessons within a workbook or from one workbook to another. All these features may require support and ConquerKnowledge has factored this into its price. All support issues can be sent to support@conquerknowledge.com. Price discounts of iStudy are available to schools who will offer their own in house support.

Excel pop ups. iStudy was built on top of Excel. To the best of our knowledge we have controlled most of the pop up windows but some still manage to creep through. The fact of the matter is, most of the messages that still creep through will only show up once (providing the user responds with a no). Please identify any such occurrences to support@conquerknowledge.com. Most of these problems will be addressed in future releases.

Speed. iStudy works well with newer machines. We are aware of some speed issues on older machines. We currently are working on a new release of iStudy which greatly improves the overall speed. Early tests show speed improvements of many of its functions by as much as a factor of 10. A beta version of this release will be made available shortly.

We greatly appreciate your feedback and hope that we have addressed most of the issues.

This Price! This programme is "okay" to actually "good," although choppy in places and slow. For example, at some points in using the programme, Excel (which is the background program) pops through with various messages and windows (not good!) But for 95 bucks!! I don't think so.

I downloaded iStudy this morning and by 9 am and I was on the phone with friends and colleagues encouraging them to download this software and view the demo. I was blown away by the ease of its use and the range of the program. Unlike others of its kind, iStudy allows for multiple types of learning and studying, catering to children who learn in a number of different ways. The graphics are fun and inviting and the ease of navigation is apparent through the demo. I cannot imagine why a school or parent would not want children using this valuable study tool at home or in the classroom.
