No ascending compatibility - Version: 5.5.8, 1/23/2007 04:14AM PST

For "large" drawings ( over 17x17 inches ) there might be NO ascending compatibility between version 4.4 ( os9 version) and version 5 standard!
Your old drawings, made with version 4, might just be cut… to these new limits. ( Unfortunately with no way to choose the part you cut… )
If you complain to microspot, you'll be gently asked to pay some more 100$ to upgrade to version "pro" ( which looks very similar to the 4 "standard" os9 version except that it is OSX compatible).

The main limitation of the P.E. version that I bump into is the inability to change the sizes of the arrows on dimensions. They are fairly large, and when you're using a basic 8.5x11 sheet of paper, it means you can't really do drawings of things with lots of detail. The work-around I use is to set my Page Setup as if I'm printing at 50% or smaller. Then I can use a larger virtual paper size, and when it prints it shrinks down to the actual letter sized paper. This shrinks everything including the arrow heads.
But overall its an easy to use, stable, well supported piece of software that does the job for a reasonable price.
