With a 12" PB my full name (15characters) was taking up too much damn space. This is exactly what I needed.

SwitchIt CommentaryNeeds to ONLY show local users - Version: 1.1, 12/10/2003 12:50PM PST

ClassicUser
Not bad, but if you are on a NetInfo network, it displays ALL users on that network. This makes the user menu incredibly slow to load, as it builds a list of ALL available network users - definitely not what is desired.

If SwitchIt could be updated to only display locally-defined users, it appears as if it would be a great modification to the built-in Fast User Switching functionality.

Well, I finally managed to get this to work, now that Unsanity released an update to their Menu Extra Enabler haxie just today. I like it, but I wish it had some more options, like FUS++ has. It's tough to decide which to use. This is a TRUE menu extra, so you can move it around in the menu, but FUS++ is much more configurable. Can't we get a combination of both? Maybe that's too much to ask. However, I'd like to see both products (Switchit and FUS++) improve with each new release.

SwitchIt CommentaryProbably my fault, but... - Version: 1.1, 11/23/2003 09:27PM PST

I cannot get this work no matter what, using either Unsanity's menu enabler or menucracker. However, FUS++ worked just fine right out of the box.

SwitchIt ReviewDownload is corrupt - Version: 1.1, 11/22/2003 08:57AM PST

Not sure why, but everytime I try to download w/ Safari, the archive unzips and is corrupted. If I use IE to download it worked fine. Great idea! The waste of Menu space is one thing that kept me from using this feature... now I'm hooked.

Ryan, try FUSe (http://0x2a.no-ip.org/mt/archives/000057.html). Works perfect for me, and stays unobtrusive. Too bad it's not on versiontracker. I got the link to it from macosxhints.com, and have been using it for around a week.
