10.5 compatible? - Version: 4.5.7, 11/18/2007 09:57AM PST

So is there a 10.5 version, or is this one compatible?

ATI is now getting bought out by AMD who focuses on Windows machines mostly. This may or may not be good for Mac users. Hope support for Macs continues.. but it may not... Then again, ATI support, etc. sux and has sucked for years... hopefully AMD will improve support, etc. for Mac users... instead of dropping or, God forbid, even worsening support. (Which means I will never use their products again esp. after all the trouble with ATI already) It will be a challenge to do worse than ATI... i.e., this 4.5.7 update completely hoses my 8500's ability to do TV out... yet there hasn't been NO fix for this in a VERY long time so I'm stuck at 4.5. That sucks.. ATI sucks.

Having recently re-installed my entire system except this control panel, I'm left with the following question: What did it really do? The operating system comes with it's own drivers for your ATI cards. This panel only lets you turn on and off little settings that just aren't visible to the human eye anyway. Well... not on my screen anyway.
Unless you have an urge to be able to rotate the screen so that you can look at it upside-down, it's better to let your OS do the driving.
By the way, the older versions of ATI Displays ARE available on their web site. But no uninstaller like Cowicide says.
