Product Description:

Heart Monitor is a bare-bones CPU monitor menu extra that displays a beating heart. As the CPU load increases, the heart beats faster. You can set Heart Monitor to track the User, System, Idle or Nice load. It does not do much else. Uptime, processor info and other tidbits are not displayed. You can set the window level (desktop, normal or floating), and optionally display a small window showing all CPU load averages.

This is a wonderful cpu monitor. If you have any visual skill at all, you will find it easier to interpret this than staring any number of complicated graphs or bars. Not only does it seem to be accurate, and take up very little screen space, but the animation itself is soothing. I find it helps me to calm down, subliminally. Though I may be developing a slight arrhythmia (?)

This is the dumbest CPU Monitor I've ever tried to use. Good luck telling the difference between 50% CPU usage and 90% usage. The graphic never really impressed me, either.

I always liked StimpSoft's products for their bizarreness and their Frank-Zappa-istical "spirit". Although this is no more really StimpSoft, the spirit is still here. It's not the best CPU monitor out there but there's nothing really bad about it either - except that it's quite a CPU hog itself (on an iBook 700)...
