iGetMovies Commentarydownloading stuff is fine until you... - Version: 2.1.1, 9/3/2005 12:24AM PST

The only time someone might want to take a glance of why someone is downloading copyrighted stuff is when he is making a lot of money from it. If some one is not making money on a illegal copy of a song he downloaded, you are not losing any money either.

This doesn't seem to work with the latest iTunes. I used to manually go to the temp folder to get the files, but after I updated iTunes and QT, I can no longer find the file. I decided to give this app a try and it seems to have the same problem I am (i.e. not able to find the temp file). The only problem I have with this app is that it doesn't allow you to set where you want the files to show up. I hate getting the files on my desktop b/c I use FileVault.

The main purpose of this application is getting an iTunes Music Store video clip or an Apple Movie Trailer from the cache.

Do you honestly think you are stealing Alicia Keys or Pixar Studios by saving their trailers on your Mac?? Come on...

Quite agree. If you don't want people to download files on the internet- don't put them there in the first place. But hang on a sec, if you don't put your files on line, how will anyone see them and notice what a clever fellow you are? Well it's simple. In the overwhelming majority of cases people who like what you have done will most certainly buy that product anyway, and that goes for anything- music, films, photo's, software etc. etc. I too will argue the case, all those who complain, have you ever taped on cassette or VHS/ whatever anything being music or video? If you say 'no' then you are probably a liar or just plain odd!
(I am a professional photographer and music maker incidently and am no stranger to this utterly pointless 'fear of the internet' arguement.)

PS thanks for this nice little app- there has been many times when I've needed a file for reference and I've had to do a screenshot or run 'wiretap' to get a file

If you don't want your videos to be downloaded, simple advice "don't put them online". It is the inherant nature of the internet.

All kinds of files get downloaded and stored in your browser cache. Which is technically a copyright infringement, you have copied copyright protected material. So as you view this web page bear this in mind. 1. You have illegally duplicated copyright material. 2. If you think download a file is in itself an act of stealing, then you have possibly commited a criminal offense and you should report yourself to the police. 3. When released from prision may I suggest you start a lobby group, and lobby to ban the following: web browser, VCRs, tape decks, computers, CD/DVD burners, cameras, photocopies etc etc.

Sounds rediculous. Yes it is. Are the police going to come and arrest you after downloading a quicktime file. Will you do time in prison for 'Grand Quicktime Theft'?
But wait a minute, it is stealing isn't it??

If so are you going to petition Canon, Sony and all those other companies that produce technology that allows you to copy copyright material? I seriously doubt it. So why hassle this guy?

I would tend to agree with the iMac Man. What do you really expect? Don't rip people off. It's not the right thing to do.
