Product Description:

The Viewpoint Media Player is a browser plug-in able to display interactive 3D models, Macromedia Flash animations and interfaces, as well as streaming video. Using our proprietary software, Enliven for creating these interactive rich media experiences visitors get real-time interaction with 3D models complimented with Flash and Video.

The VMP, installed on over 60% of US computers, is widely used to present product tours for the Automotive, Consumer Electronics, and Aerospace industries.

Not sure about the Mac version, but if I find this on any Macs, I'm going to highly recommend that it be uninstalled.

The reason the company can claim that it's installed on 60% of Windows PCs is because it's bundled with AIM - and every time you upgrade AIM, it reinstalls itself. You get rid of it, and it comes back.

They've also got (or had) a company representative posting all around the internet, trying to counter people's claims about the software. See this link for yourself.

My recommendation: don't install this software on your Mac, and remove it from any Windows PCs that you can.

This player has a lot of promise. When they have OS X native content building applications it will be even better. Sounds like Viewpoint is doing a lot in the near future to make rich media authoring and playing as easy and intuitive as possible.
