As others have pointed out, the latest updates, while offering improvements and enhancements to the look and feel of the game, have also introduced a choppiness to the game that makes it almost unplayable. I complained about this on the developer's website, and received some polite reponses and suggestions, but the problem remains. Needless to say, I won't be paying for any future updates unless the choppiness problem is solved.

Performance issues - Version: 1.02, 1/16/2005 01:48PM PST

I agree with Blaine Parker. On it's freeware incarnation KTA Tennis was zippy enough to become a very enjoyable, addictive game. Ever since v.1.0 the game has gotten better on the looks and feature department but it has become unplayable when it comes to performance. This is not Doom 3 or Halo...it should play A LOT smoother even without a top-of-the-line machine. From v.1.01 to v.1.02 it did get a tiny bit smoother but not nearly enough to get it to be playable. I really hope this improves as now it is not freeware anymore.

1.0.1 is fun playing and worth paying the $.
It is a pleasure to see simple games for everyday use on Apple platform.
Hope to see more options in the future: like 2 human players against 2 computer bots.
Thanks,
LawD.

.79 was fun and reasonably smooth-playing. V. 1.00 adds a lot of new features, but on my DP 533 with 1GB RAM, the play is choppy at best, unplayable at worst. This with all apps quite, BTW. If the developer can optimize the code, he'll have a great toy and a buyer, but at this stage of development, .79 offers greater play value (even with its bugs and glitches) and this one just needs more fine-tuning for serious consideration. I'll try it on my DP G5 and report if the results are any better on that box. Thanks and keep coding, Karl!

I played and quit... and when I tried to play again, the first point is played immediately, and then I am unable to serve again... the game is locked up. Something is amiss... though the game has potential
Forget Virtua Tennis!!!!

- Version: 0.62, 6/30/2004 05:22PM PST
Here I am!
This is better than Virtua Tennis and Mario Tennis combined! It's even better than playing real tennis! Well, OK - none of that, but this is a cute game that is fun, as described.
service cheat - Version: 0.53, 12/5/2003 10:39AM PST

i like the game. but i don't like the service cheat: if you are to serve, just serve and run on the x-axis to the opposite edge and the opponent will lose the point.

This one has possibilities for sure.
The "mouse hit" is a good feature since it will be a tricky one to master but the plain "key hit" is good to start with.
It doesn't take that long before you start to controll the ball and get it where you want it to go, this is good. I think that the game is feature rich since you can choose between three different court surfaces and four difficulty levels.
The only downside I can find is that I wish I somehow could make my player to run faster.
stuff I like to see: 1. a smash, 2. multi-player support, 3. hit control - so you can hit the ball both soft and hard.
Four stars for a great first effort though!
