Apple Xcode Usage TipWhat's new, 3.2 - Version: 3.2.1, 11/1/2009 06:34PM PST

friedchikkin
From about_xcode_3.2.1 PDF;

Xcode 3.2 developer tools for Mac OS X 10.6 has the following improvements:
• Static code analysis is fully integrated within the Xcode IDE via the Build and Analyze option under the Build menu or via custom build settings
• New Build Results window collects warnings and errors in a persistent log
• GCC 4.2 is the primary system compiler for the 10.6 SDK
• The next-generation LLVM compiler is included using two different front ends - the Clang compiler is a new, leading-edge front end that also provides the basis for the new static analyzer. For maximum compatibility, the GCC LLVM compiler utilizes the LLVM back-end with the GCC 4.2 front-end parser.
• New template chooser and project assistants • New opening window for quick access to recent projects

It is absolutely idiotic that we have to keep downloading the entire 1GB disk image just for minor version upgrades.

Apple Xcode CommentaryXcode 2.5 available for OS X 10.4, but beware... - Version: 3.0, 11/4/2007 02:06PM PST

If you're running Xcode 2.2 on OS X 10.4.x, don't try and install Xcode 2.5, which is supposed to work with 10.4.x, it'll kernel panic at reboot! You'll have to run a manual uninstall script in single-user boot mode to remove it all. If you still want to try it, go to developer.apple.com.

Cheers, Al

Apple Xcode Commentaryapp versions same as those bundled with Leopard - Version: 3.0, 10/28/2007 07:41PM PST

James Wu
I installed the version of Xcode bundled with Leopard then downloaded and installed the Xcode package available for download from ADC. The version and build numbers for Xcode, Interface Builder, Dashcode, Quartz Composer and Instruments were the same. The size of the packages in the download are also the same as the ones bundled. You can draw your own conclusions, but it looks like the download is the same as what is bundled.

Why would one think so?

Surprised that Xcode 3 is not for 10.4 :-( One would think that you could develop on 10.4 & deploy on 10.5...

Apple Xcode CommentaryBundled with Leopard - Version: 3.0, 10/27/2007 03:05PM PST

Jeff Mincey
Is this simply the version of Xcode which is bundled with Leopard, or is this a post-Leopard release of Xcode?
