Apple Xcode CommentaryXcode 2.5 available for OS X 10.4, but beware... - Version: 3.0, 11/4/2007 02:06PM PST

If you're running Xcode 2.2 on OS X 10.4.x, don't try and install Xcode 2.5, which is supposed to work with 10.4.x, it'll kernel panic at reboot! You'll have to run a manual uninstall script in single-user boot mode to remove it all. If you still want to try it, go to developer.apple.com.

Cheers, Al

Apple Xcode Commentaryapp versions same as those bundled with Leopard - Version: 3.0, 10/28/2007 07:41PM PST

I installed the version of Xcode bundled with Leopard then downloaded and installed the Xcode package available for download from ADC. The version and build numbers for Xcode, Interface Builder, Dashcode, Quartz Composer and Instruments were the same. The size of the packages in the download are also the same as the ones bundled. You can draw your own conclusions, but it looks like the download is the same as what is bundled.

> One would think that you could develop on 10.4 & deploy on 10.5...

Why would one think so?
