Product Description:

iTunes Catalog creates web catalogs of your iTunes music library, displays the cover artwork for each album, and copies album artwork into iTunes.

iTunes Catalog can create HTML catalogs of your music with the same brushed-metal look as iTunes, complete with the cover artwork. It can also create catalogs in text, PDF, or XML format.

iTunes Catalog can add album artwork to all the music in your iTunes library in one click, automating a process that otherwise takes hours to complete manually. It can also create custom icons for your music in the Finder.

Besides displaying your music collection, HTML catalogs let you play music, find song lyrics, search Google for artist info, and buy music from the iTunes Music Store or Amazon.com.

iTunes Catalog costs US$9.99, and you can try the the program on part of your library for free. You can purchase iTunes Catalog using secured online payment through PayPal or Kagi. Most major currencies are accepted.

What's new in this version:

  • Artwork
    • A new column indicates which songs have artwork in iTunes Catalog, and which songs have artwork in iTunes. (Requires iTunes 4.5. Thanks again to the iTunes team for implementing another feature request!)
    • Redesigned the buttons in the artwork drawer. It is now easier to copy artwork to and from iTunes. Buttons now work when an artist or genre is selected.
  • Music Links
    • Catalogs can now play songs in iTunes, streaming music over the web.
    • You can now choose whether you would like music links to open in a popup window.
  • Sorting
    • You can now sort albums by year when sorting the library by name.
  • HTML
    • Generated HTML is now more standards-compliant.
    • Links to songs with special characters in their names now work better.
    • Fixed a bug that could cause broken links on the index page of a catalog.

iTunes Catalog CommentaryPlay music? - Version: 2.1, 7/21/2006 03:16AM PST

Does anyone know how to get this neat little application to actually PLAY the displayed music title in a website? Whenever I clickt the titles, I only get a pale Quicktime logo but no music is played.

This could be or perhaps is the ultimate solution for musicians to present their demo music to the public. But as I say, I cannot get it to work...

iTunes Catalog ReviewBe careful before you try to buy... - Version: 2.0.1, 7/10/2006 08:15PM PST

I purchased the upgrade to Version 2 by opening Version 1 and clicking on "buy" which allowed me to purchase it for $9.99 via a link to PayPal. The bad news is that after paying, I have yet to hear from them with the registration number. I don't know if they're out of business or what but it looks like I'm out 10 bucks.

iTunes Catalog CommentaryThere's no way to upgrade from 1.x version to 2.x - Version: 2.0, 4/4/2006 03:05PM PST

I have searched high and low to figure out how to upgrade from the 1.x version to the new 2.0 version. The developer's web site says that the upgrade price is $9.99 but all the various "buy it now" pages and buttons take me to a purchase page for the full $25.00 price.

Has anyone figured out how to get the upgrade price? ITunes Catalog 2.0 looks awesome and I'd like to support this developer but it is very frustrating that they do not make it easy to upgrade.
