Product Description:

Clones, backups, and data synchronization made easy.
MimMac is a fast, easy-to-use, and comprehensive backup and cloning utility, designed to make backing up, synchronizing, merging, and cloning your data as painless as possible. With MimMac, there's no need to set up complex scripts, or navigate a bloated interface just to do simple tasks such as running multiple simultaneous operations, or excluding items from your backup operation(s) -- everything is ready at hand in MimMac's straight-forward and compact interface.

Gain control of your data.
With MimMac's myriad of options, filters, exclusions, and mirroring capabilities, you have complete control over exactly what gets backed up, and what doesn't. MimMac also performs incremental backups automatically, thus making your repetitive backups quick and painless. And when coupled with it's ability to check and enable ownership on destination volumes, as well as repair permissions on source volumes, you can be assured that your system clones will not only be bootable, but faithful to the original.

Built from the ground up.
MimMac is not a front-end for any pre-existing command line backup utilities; its backup engine was built from the ground up using Cocoa. As such, MimMac does not depend upon any third-parties in order to do its job.

Powerful, yet affordable.
Suffering the effects of lost data can be a costly venture, but backing up your data shouldn't be. That is why MimMac includes a free 20-day trial, and a full single-machine license is only $10

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed an issue where in some instances the backup engine could crash when multiple backup sets are simulaneously executed on an Intel Mac running Mac OS 10.5.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.5 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC

MimMac ReviewSTAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT - Version: 1.8.7, 4/13/2008 07:14AM PST

I tried this product last year, bought a license, and thought it would meet me needs for a simple clone utility.

The bottom line is that MimMac totally destroyed by entire hard drive, rendering the data unrecoverable -- even after spending $500 with a data recovery service.

The software author was entirely unresponsive, and offered no counsel or assistance WHATSOEVER. He did not respond to email or attempts at telephone calls.

The software does make bootable clones. That's not in dispute. The problem is that the interface is so poorly designed that it is unclear whether one is restoring to or from a particular drive. There is virtually no error checking to prevent users from catastrophic data loss.

I do not make comments like this cavalierly or in an attempt to harm the developer. I have been an advanced Mac user since 1985, have worked for Apple as a systems engineer, and made a living as a software developer for years.

You'd be much better off with Super Duper.

MimMac CommentaryNo problems with MM registration.....!!! - Version: 1.9, 4/11/2008 12:50PM PST

I own 2 copies of MM which were activated on different hardware. I wanted to re-activate on my current hardware. I contacted the developer via email and got a reply within 10 minutes to try my re-activation (which BTW was successful ...)

So yes.... It took me 1 min of effort to contact the developer.... 10 minutes later, I was registered.

Unlike the rant above ....which must have taken 10 times the effort...

And I agree.... with the previous comment.... "lecturing the developer" ...hilarious!!!

MimMac ReviewOutstanding Value - Version: 1.8.9, 4/11/2008 08:59AM PST

Prior to MimMac, I used Dantz Retrospect and Synchronize Pro X. Synch Pro X was good, but it's also very pricey. In addition, I had to set up half a dozen different backup scripts to accomplish what I can do with one script in MimMac.

I've been using MimMac for about 7 months and haven't had any problems or issues. I have one licensed copy on my home MacBook and another on my work MacBook. Every day, I run MimMac when I leave home and again when I arrive at work. It just works.
