This app really did what I wanted. I needed to move my ipod music to my hard drive. Worked smoothly and quickly.

Does exactly what it says on the tin! When you've extracted the files from your Ipod, trash the com.apple.itunes.plist file in yourhomefolder/library/preferences so iTunes thinks it's the first time it's being run and it will search for your music and import it.
