Apple Security Update CommentaryAll OK here - Version: 2008-007, 10/12/2008 03:09PM PST

Installed without issue on G4 iBook and on G5 DP PPC. Restart on the G5 DP seems noticeably snappier, too.

Any more updates and they'll have to call it 10.4.12.

Apple Security Update Troubleshooting ReportCauses Safari 3.1.2 to hang requiring force quit - Version: 2008-006, 10/5/2008 11:41AM PST

This update seems to cause Safari 3.1.2 to hang upon loading some pdfs, requiring a forced quit. Hangs are unpredictable but frequent. After installation, numerous permission needed correcting, which did not mitigate the Safari problem. Neither did clearing the Safari preferences plist.

Warning: consult the message boards before you install!

Apple Security Update Review"Your network settings have been changed by another application" - Version: 2008-006, 9/25/2008 11:43AM PST

VERY BAD UPDATE. DO NOT INSTALL.

If you have not already installed "Security Update 2008-006," DO NOT INSTALL IT, especially if you are using a laptop and change "Locations" often! Thousands and thousands of OS X 10.4.11 users are finding it impossible to use the Network preference pane after applying this update. There is no fix from Apple at this time, and although there are some work-arounds. Mostly it breaks your system.

VERY BAD UPDATE. DO NOT INSTALL.
