Product Description:

Nicecast is the easiest way to broadcast music from OS X. Broadcast around the globe, or just across your house. Nicecast can help you create your own internet radio station or allow access to your iTunes Music Library from anywhere in the world!

What's new in this version:

For Nicecast 1.9.5, we've worked with algoriddim to make Nicecast work seamlessly with their application djay. With djay, you can DJ using your iTunes Library, mixing with two interactive virtual turntables. Adding Nicecast to the mix provides a killer duo. Create live sets with ease using djay, then broadcast to the world with Nicecast. Nicecast 1.9.5 also features several important improvements, included updates to Instant Hijack, Soundflower, the LAME MP3 encoding engine, and the included icecast streaming server.

Nicecast ReviewRock solid reliability and quality. - Version: 1.9.5, 8/13/2009 12:41PM PST

I have been using Nicecast to stream our community and student radio station now since May 2009 and the only time i have to relaunch it was after a system update! This app makes a very pleasing 128kps bitrate mp3 sound that is clean, and reliable. With the processing options, our listeners have already noticed a difference in the sound quality of the station output.

We also use it with Audio Hijack Pro to archive and schedule repeating.

I would recommend this to anyone wanting to start streaming audio in mp3 format. (ACC is apparently being looked at!) Download it, buy it and use it straight away and notice the difference! You can hear us using it to stream to mixstream for broadcast at:

http://www.cre8radiofm.net/listen

at 128kps (from a back up 96kps ACC file currently, running off MacPro - whilst using for other things!) and live from Sept 09.

PS. I DO NOT work for and neither am i sponsored by rogueamoeba!!! lol.

Nicecast Review1.9.5 Does not connect - Version: 1.9.5, 2/4/2009 03:13PM PST

trubleliever
I can't get this upgrade to the version that did work, 1.9.4, to connect. I still have 1.9.4 on another drive so can connect with that. So far I haven't heard back from the developer whom I contacted yesterday. I could give 4 starts to 1.9.4, this one gets nothing.

Nicecast Reviewtoo good! - Version: 1.9.4, 9/24/2008 11:56AM PST

I have been using Nicecast for a few years now. It works and works well. I just moved house and had a little problem setting up my router ports. I can't stress how helpful the Rogue Amoeba support guys are. They went out of their way to get me up and running again. I thoroughly recommend! Buy now! If you don't want to buy, take the free trial. What do you have to lose? Big-up the Rogues! And a big thank you to them. Their other software rocks too.
