inkBook Reviewgreat product if you are patient - Version: 1.2.1, 4/12/2006 01:47PM PST

exercise a little patience with Ink and this product works GREAT. printing is not supported very well, but functions. the glitches with Ink are actually Apple's fault, and hopefully apple will make Ink more robust. (issue is basically that multiple API calls to ink, immediately after each other, sometimes causes the Ink service to break the connection to Inkbook. this happens when Ink is parsing a previous pen stroke, and you begin a new stroke before it is done parsing.)

inkBook ReviewinkBook is looking good! - Version: 1.1.0, 6/22/2004 04:28PM PST

Forget about the complaints in my earlier post (see below.) In addition, I owe an apology to the developer who had left me a friendly, helpful comment which I did not get because I never came back to this VT page. Now, inkBook more than fulfills its earlier promise. With a Wacom tablet, it works very well and even though script is not recommended, it did quite a good job picking up on my scrawl. On block lettering, it amazingly recognized everything I threw at it (a bunch.) I am impressed with the growth of this application and the developer's dedication to it. I hope we will see inkBook continue to grow. I'm ducking out of here to send my $20.

inkBook ReviewIt works great for me - Version: 1.0.0, 5/3/2004 09:16AM PST

I don't know of a better, easier note taker on the Mac. What a pleasure it is to be able just to jot down my notes by hand without having to take the extra step of uploading them them via apple's inkpad. And the few questions I've had have been answered immediately by the developer.

inkBook CommentaryLooks like it will be a useful application when - Version: 0.3.0a1, 12/31/2003 03:15PM PST

it doesn’t crash in the middle of writing notes. I followed all the developer‘s recommendations; still had to force quit twice and re-start the machine. QuickSilver, 512 MB RAM running 10.3.2. I am awaiting a version fix before rating.

inkBook Troubleshooting ReportAnswer to only get selection - Version: 0.3.0a1, 12/31/2003 09:17AM PST

Mage SW
From MageSW's inkBook FAQ Page.

http://www.magesw.com/inkbook/faqs.html

Q. I use my mouse but all I get is a selection. Why can't I ink?

A. You must use your tablet or other ink-aware input device to draw ink.

Q. I am using the pen with my tablet and I still don't get any ink!

A. Ink must be turned on in your System Preferences. Open System Preferences and click on Ink (Hardware section). Set "Handwriting recognition" to "On". Note: you do not have to have check "Allow me to write anywhere."

inkBook ReviewNope - Version: 0.3.0a1, 12/31/2003 12:11AM PST

Well, the application launches an looks nice. But on my MDD Dual 867 with an Intuous 6x8 tablet all I can do is make selection marquees. The brush and pencil buttons change the cursor but do NOT change the behavior of the cursor. I can't write anything.... jsut make grey boxes as I drag the stylus around. This is a good idea, if it works. I realize this is an alpha so.. I'll give 3 stars for potential, but it really does nothing more than launch and display the notebook window. Yes, I tried all tools and all variations of the tools.

Are you like actually going to develop this? It's a hell of an idea - this release fell apart onscreen - but hope you do.
