Still Works Great - Version: 2.2, 6/16/2009 02:44PM PST

It's been a couple of years since Painter's Picker has been reviewed, so I just want to let everyone know it still works great as of OS X 10.5.7. I've been using it for a few years and it has performed very well since day one. This color picker definitely deserves its five star rating.
Cool

All I can say is Wow! I am not that good with colors, and my designs show it. This tool totally resolves any color selection issues for me, and I expect that my color selection will be much better thanks to this product. Whether it's colors of fonts, or items in a graphic, this tool allows me to pick colors that work well together (or those that don't, if that's my goal). This is so good that it should be part of the Mac OS. It's really that good.

This is cheaper, has more options, and is available system wide instead of simply a photoshop color picker.
Amazing

Not sure what freevito is talking about in regards to Mozilla + Thunderbird. I usually do my color picking in Photoshop + After Effects, and for those, this is amazing. Real easy to use, and a great way to find color palettes that "work".

Used the version 1.x before. Installed 2.0 a few minutes ago and it has been much improved since the last version! It's still getting better and better.
I love it...

...of the final version (2.0 ) shareware fee if it solved the problem with Mozilla's hideous color palette. Unfortunately, the Moz 5.0 code base eliminated the color picker and replaced it with a 70-color pallette, so it's not immediately obvious how to make something like Painter's Picker work in Mozilla.
I suspect the key might be in the new standalone Mozilla apps (Firefox browser and Thunderbird mail client). Thunderbird 0.6 accepts "extensions", which makes it user-configurable; if you want lean & mean, you don't install the extensions. Painter's Picker as a Thunderbird extension would make a lot of sense.
I haven't used it enough to justify a rating and a review, but the little time I have used it says it's a nifty enhancement to any app that supports a color picker. If it could be used in Mozilla, I'd jump on it.

the beta is free. I do not charge for beta software.
The current stable version (1.1.3) costs $13.85.
When 2.0 final is released, it will be $18.85.
2.0b2 acts just like the 2.0 final will work (unless bugs are found), but with a "BETA" watermark behind the color picker.
