Apple Bluetooth firmware CommentaryFor whom is this update intended? - Version: 1.2.1, 6/14/2006 04:37PM PST

I checked my Software Update, and the new firmware didn't show up, I checked the version of Bluetooth firmware on my Rev A G5 iMac and it shows as 2.1586. What gives? I never downloaded the last update either, it didn't seem intended for my machine. It would be nice if Apple specified which models the firmware applies to.

Apple's page says that if you successfully updated to 1.2 BT Firmware this update isn't necessary.

Hope this helps!

I do not understand what is this new frmware.
I have just downloaded it, but my iMac G5 (PPC; D-Link DBT 120; mac os x 10.4.6) refused it, because the software up-date is unnecessary.
The same happened with a blue-tooth module by Belkin.

No problems here! Works on my Powerbook G4 667, with a DBT-120 and Sony Ericsson T616 cell phone. One thing I noticed though is that the link and power LED's flash off and on in unison- even when buetooth is inactive... hmmm looks pretty though lol Oh and PhoneAgent is reporting an even stronger signal level now then it had prior to the update so this is a nice bonus!

Apple Bluetooth firmware ReviewUpdate went smoothly. - Version: 1.1, 4/20/2004 10:00AM PST

Followed all directions carefully. Noted that the installer is careful enough not to allow the firmware update without AC mains plugged into the PowerBook. Good idea. Nothing went wrong during the install. No errors noted or problems encountered since.

Wish it was able to flash my early-adopter bluetooth USB plug-in. They've never updated the firmware for my version, but it does flash every version that came out after it supposedly.

Apple Bluetooth firmware Troubleshooting ReportReset the PMU - Version: 1.1, 4/20/2004 07:49AM PST

petergrether
Zapping the PRAM will not bring back your BT. You have to reset the PMU.

PowerBook G4 (12-inch), PowerBook G4 (12-inch DVI), PowerBook G4 (15-inch FW 800), PowerBook G4 (17-inch) and PowerBook G4 (17-inch 1.33GHz)

1. If the computer is on, turn it off.
2. Reset the power manager by simultaneously pressing and then releasing Shift-Control-Option-power on the keyboard. Do not press the fn (Function) key while using this combination of keystrokes.
3. Wait 5 seconds.
4. Press the power button to restart the computer.
