Clams McShrewto filter and translate all incoming communication into the jargon of their preference,
I think world peace might actually become possible.

Martin Turner--2008But it's just too unsophisticated to be funny. Consider this (fake) piece of fundamentalism:
"Brethren - 'thou shalt know the truth and the truth shalt set thee free'. For unto us in this very moment is given the almighty strength to taste the very depths of suffering and to tear down the very strongholds of darkness."
The translation into NIMBYism is given as:
"Brethren - 'thou shalt know the truth and the truth shalt set thee free'. For unto us in this very moment is given the Spokesman strength to taste the very depths of suffering and to tear down the very strongholds of darkness."
Erm... this really isn't very different. A better translation would be:
"Colleagues. Getting the facts straight works for all of us. The fact is that right now we may have to take some knocks but at the same time we get to strike an enormous blow for the kind of neighbourhood we want to keep."
Or in Thatcherism:
"Fellow Conservatives. Our policy of NO U-TURNS is what gives us the freedom to pursue the values that make Britain GREAT! We may now have to tighten our belts, but we will emerge a stronger, better nation for it, and the forces of chaos epitomised by the National Union of Mineworkers and their flying pickets shall not say that they have defeated Britain!"
Somebody wake me up when the app can do that.
Excellent App
