Product Description:

DropDoc is an Applescript droplets that use the antiword program to extract text from Word (.DOC) files. DropDoc now extracts text to Appleworks 6, BBEdit, the Clipboard, and TextEdit.

What's new in this version:

Added ApplewWorks 6 support and consolidated the droplets into a single droplet.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2

Additional Requirements:

  • 10.x? I've tried this on 10.2.6
  • and I'm currently using 10.3.3. If you find this doesn't work on other versions of OS X
  • please let me know!

While I support any free app. especially those that free our minds from the heavy vampireism of Micro$oft products.. these scripts were a bit difficult to get going. First if you allready don't have or installed antiword you must do so. If your a Unix newbie or dummie, chances are you won't succeed. There are Gui's that do what this does more or less.. although they aren't the best either. Little more work and all should be well. :)
