Andreas..

I hope no-one is stupid enough to pay for this.

(click —>)SymbolicLinker works beautifully (for those who don't want to use Terminal) and is FREE.

LandOfTheFree
Earlier comment on an earlier version said it was $12... Now we get "improved 10.4.2 compatability"... for $2 more.

Check out free apps that do the same thing in comments OR open up terminal and type "man ln" to learn how to make symbolic links. Then bill yourself $14.

This functionality ought to be part of the same developer's Move Items X contextual menu, which allows for move, copy, and make alias.

Abracode's "OnMyCommand?" [ http://www.abracode.com/FREE/cmworkshop/on_my_command.html ]. It does this and about another 280-320 contextual menu item shortcuts, yupp, as it points out in their URL... for FREE! Oh, BTW, it handles Applescripts as well.

for crying out loud, (whatever the heck that means) $14 for a freaking sym link??? Andreas, thanks for thinking of everyone else, good tips! If you think about it, anyone that actually knows why they should use a symlink as opposed to an Apple ALIAS probably know show to do it via shell anyway.

Make Symlink ReviewLook elsewhere - Version: 1.1.2, 2/6/2005 11:05AM PST

Andreas..

I generally don't like making purely negative comments, but this deserves nothing but total shunning and ostracizing.

Have a look at SymbolicLinker by Nick Zitzmann (free and perfect). Also, for the navigating, moving, copying, etc have a look at QuickAccessCM by Abracode (free and totally brilliant).

This 12-year-old should grow up with a different attitude and we can all help by... looking elsewhere.

Make Symlink CommentaryHow symbolic! - Version: 1.1.1, 9/24/2004 06:22PM PST

harsher
This developer in particular is so pathetic. His whole product line
(Launch Items, Move Items, Browse Volumes, Folder Contents, etc) were
all features in one freeware called FinderPop in the good old days. But
he probably thought that people who want to launch files don't
necessarily want to move files or god forbid, to browse files, so he
generously offers them in separate products, each for 12$ or 15$ or
more.

And now he has yet another little feature for $12. There's no point
asking why. It's called "G" and "R" and "E" and "E" and "D", and yes you guessed it, each sold separately.
