I've only just begun down the path of palm development and have already managed to leapfrog several hurdles thanks to this excellent port of the PRC-Tools for OS X. Just when I thought developing on the Palm would actually be difficult I find it. Saved me hours.
A Development Environment for Palm Application Developers

For anyone developing Palm applications, this is the canonical toolset - a GCC toolchain, plus the well-known associated tools, for building and packaging Palm apps.
A host of commercial options are available - everything from Metrowerks to Waba and more - but when it comes down to a basic and freely-available environment for doing anything and everything, the PRC-Tools are the ultimate swiss army knife.
This is, as always, great news for developers interested in building applications for the Palm, or looking to provide a Palm applet for your Mac-based apps. Conduit development is still a bit of a black art, but at least the Palm side of things just got easier.

I've discovered PRC-Tools with some Linux guys programming their palm on a Linux Box. When it appeared on Mac Os X, i was a bit worrying about the ease of use...
But first of all, this is all about simplicity when you install this package: you don't have to edit the sources to make it work with Mac Os X, you don't even compile them, you just have to double-click and you can start playing (maybe you call that programming).
Bye the way, i think right now that those tools are the only one still available on Mac Os X (due to Metrowerks betrayal to the platform) and best of all it is free!
When i started using it, i was wondering how i can enjoy a command line utility on Mac Os X, but in fact it's not a drawback it's a feature. Because with other projects like PeROXIDE, you can use a full GUI to program your stuff. But what would be better is a template to integrate PRC-Tools in project builder.
Last but not least, the author also included a sample application so you can benefit from a kick start if you want to program for Palms.
