Product Description:

The program reads and stores the schedules for the user's choice of BBC Radio stations and displays a list of what's on now in a small window. It will remind you when a favorite programme is about to start and allow you to quickly start that programme playing through RealNetworks' RealOne Player.

Although this functionality may seem similar to just browsing the BBC Web Site, there are many advantages to using Steam. Among these are the fact that everything is displayed in your own time zone, minimal use of the screen, checking schedules while off-line, checking old listings, searching listings on any station concurrently and many more. And you get reminders so you don't miss your favorite programme.

This is a must for any Mac user who listens to the BBC.

What's new in this version:

  • Can adjust font size and hide lower pane in main window
  • New Prefs Window
  • Modified icon (thank you Malcolm Atkinson)
  • Changed 24 hour logic (now works better with Panther) allows user to control leading zero etc
  • Shading on tables (Panther only)
  • Option to turn off local timezone display.
  • Manual update more responsive
  • Numerous other improvements

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or higher

This great little prog seems to have broken - probably with changes at the BBC website - and the very helpful and friendly developer appears to have left home!

Does anybody know of a similar program for keeping tabs on BBC output, allowing searching and reminders so that I don't miss the only good programmes on radio . . . ?

Brian!!!
3.1 Steam seems slow and clunky.
Lots of Apple's spining pinwheel when: waiting for schedules to load, clicking on:
play, on air, up next. More apple pinwheel when waiting for embedded player to open, and whilst waitng for program to start.
Occaisionally won't play bbc7, (this has happened in late afternoon, est).
Yes steam is great and it does work in the end and the older versions of steam never seemed so slow.
thank you
