GLUON ProPack CommentaryIt's good but.......................... - Version: 7.02, 9/6/2008 02:36PM PST

when your system keeps crashing and the work can't get out because something in Gluon ProPack crashes Quark call tech support and get their answering service. Really nice product when it does not shred your work. I have used Gluon products for years and they keep getting less reliable. We stopped using their slugger as it kept crashing quark files in the middle of our production cycle. The advertising agency i work for needs files going out, not crash and burn. Cropster is the best of the Quark plugins ever. I wish it was reliable. Slugger is a problem for us and the other toys are not used often, if at all. No plugin is expected to be trouble free, but calling tech support when the file is on deadline and the system crashes with the plugins and their response is to send in an email request that can be forwarded on the tech support should give you pause before your buy. When they tell you "it" was fixed in the new version, just remember they have said that before.

the comment here is — beware.

No tips are required to trouble shoot my system, thank you and good luck.

Just bought - Developer is First Rate communication and awareness to the user. As a pro 28 years in the biz... I have a zillion gizmos already on my computers... I did give their xtensions many tries, found a bug or 2, but never bought - OK I broke down and bought because I really did need a few of the xt's finally for a few unique projects.... and also I waht to add some more value enhanced features to our design studio with prepress deliver to clients and to printers.... I reported the bugs as a reg user - and bang - afix the same day - can you ask for more - I don't think so... 5 stars for me - Bill N

Looks like the gloves are off between Gluon and Mark Cairns.
As for me, I'll be sticking with InDesign!
