Ukelele - Version: 0.6, 2/21/2005 01:54AM PST

I'll have to agree with the other application being nicer. I originally just built this app for my own use because there wasn't anything else out there. So, I probably won't update this app again anytime soon. Although, the name Ukelele doesn't make any sense at all to me... ;) It's still a really well put together app.
Also Ukulele - Version: 0.6, 7/26/2004 03:32AM PST

There is also Ukulele (not on versiontracker.com yet), which seems to be very nice. It does the same thing. See http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&item_id=ukelele .
crashes my system - Version: 0.6, 7/12/2004 04:32AM PST

When i put one of a generated keylayout-files in the folder, tha system (10.3.4) will don't boot correctly. It crashes and it goes into the tsh-shell of darwin.
It works with the example.keylayout file, but not with new generated files.

Some remarks for the author - Version: 0.6, 6/15/2004 09:53AM PST

I tried playing with it to create a Romanian keylayout (Servus Sorin :-).
While the program works well and generates valid files, it misses on one key (NPI) feature: you MUST include the default US layout with the program, even make it the default for new documents. It's available here http://wordherd.com/keyboards/
Thank you.

06 seems almost done - Version: 0.6, 4/7/2004 12:35PM PST

1. Version 0.6 beta seems almost done, unfortunately I do not understand why its author (1) does not add the key left to z, and (2) does not allows font display customization, in order to not see symbols instead of the real chars.
With these done, and perhaps with a clearer interface (optional), and with a very brief 'How to do file' (also optional) seems almost done.
Unfortunately again, he/she does not answer the messages. If he/she had a look at my US Academic and Romanian Academic, he/she may understand that I mean what I say (and I say what I mean).
Good luck, almost done.

ISO Extended - Version: 0.6, 3/12/2004 11:42AM PST

Hello,
Told/asked you some months ago to (1) add the key left to z (ISO extended keyboard), (2) explain whether there is a special trick. On my ISO extended (physical) keyboard at least, it does not work. Tried several times.
Otherwise, if all these solved, it may be a very useful app.

this would be a great app if it worked, but it doesn't. keyboards are not recognized by the system + the changes don't seem to be getting saved anymore. i'd really love to se this work.

I second the call for more information about how to use this tool. I'm excited about the possibilities it offers, but forcing us to stumble around trying to figure it out on our own will win you no friends here.
...most confusing.
