Product Description:

Collage X searches the Internet for images relating to the artist, track, and album that are playing. Collage X then displays a never ending collage of these images on your screen. The images are different for every song. You may see album covers, photos of performances, photos of band members, or just about anything.

Keep in mind that due to the nature of this software, it is very unpredictable. For some songs it may not find any images or perhaps only one image. Some of the images that are found may be obviously related to the song that is playing and some may seem to be completely unrelated (Collage X seems to work best with popular songs).

Collage X is not distributed with any images. Collage X downloads and displays images that are freely available to anyone via the Internet. Collage X deletes the image files from the user's hard drive after they have been viewed.

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed bug that caused no images to show up when Classic was not present. (No MacOS 9)
  • Fixed a bug that caused iTunes to crash if the user turned off the visualizer while downloading an image.

Worked as described for one use. Ater that it repeated crashed iTunes at startup. Really ugly that. Avoid.

I like the idea, but the algorithm that's being used to find artwork could certainly use some adjustment... basically, far too often, it finds no/very little artwork for anything other than "top 40"-ish things. Perhaps more clever word stemming, or "fuzzier" searching built into the algorithm would help here.
